Selling your books online:

If you have never sold books online, it may seem like a daunting task.  This
page will give you some tips to let you become one of the many thousands
of people who are successfully selling their books for fun and profit.  There
are many web sites that act as a marketplace for you to sell your used and
collectible books.  Most do a great job of supporting you in your business and
helping you put your inventory in front of a large audience to maximize profits.
After all, their success depends on the success and satisfaction of the sellers
and buyers that use their site.  Some use an auction format, which has some
advantages for the seller, most notably if it is a somewhat rare book and it
garners the attention of two or more bidders, the seller can benefit greatly.
Some of the sites that do not use the auction format have the advantage of
offering free listings to sellers, so they do not pay until an item is sold.  Here
are some links to some sites that you can use to sell your books, as well as
some articles that can give you tips on selling.

eBay  the largest auction site and a great place to sell used and collectible
books.  One benefit is the ability to easily upload and display pictures of your
books so people can see what you're selling.  If you have a fairly large
inventory, you can also use the ebay Store format to sell items at a fixed price
for a reasonable price.

Amazon   the World's largest bookseller, Amazon.com lets you offer your items
for sale with no initial investment.  Once the book sells, Amazon collects the
payment from the buyer and takes a percentage.  Your payment comes in the
form of a check from Amazon once a month.

Half.com  An eBay-owned company that operates similar to Amazon.  You offer
your items for sale at a fixed price and pay a percentage when the item sells.
